Are you travelling over Easter?

The Swedish Transport Administration will be carrying out track maintenance in several places around the country over Easter, between 3 April and 13  April.

What does this mean for passengers travelling by train?

Track maintenance is being done in several parts of the country, affecting several of our departures. For example, all SJ trains from the south to Stockholm Central or south-bound from Stockholm Central will travel to and from Stockholm Södra or Flemingsberg station instead.

Friday 10 April (Good friday) and Monday 13 April (Easter Monday) are public holidays and the timetable may differ even if your route is not affected by track maintenance.

How train traffic is affected, route by route:

  • Stockholm–Malmö–Copenhagen
  • Stockholm–Karlstad–Oslo
  • Stockholm–Jönköping
  • Gävle–Stockholm–Linköping
  • Stockholm–Katrineholm–Hallsberg
  • Stockholm–Nyköping–Norrköping
  • Stockholm–Eskilstuna–Örebro

From April 3 until April 13, trains between Stockholm and the south of Sweden will stop at Flemingsberg station and Stockholm Södra instead of Stockholm Central.

If you wish to travel to/from Stockholm Central you will need to travel by SL commuter train for a part of your journey. You can purchase the commuter train ticket while buying your journey with SJ.

Good to know if your journey includes a change to commuter train

Changeover time: If you have bought a ticket that includes a change, we have calculated in enough changeover time for you to easily change trains without hurrying.

Finding your way to the commuter train: At Stockholm Södra and Flemingsberg station you only need to change platforms to change between SJ trains and the commuter trains. To help you find your way between Stockholm Central and Stockholm City, there are several attendants who are happy to show you the way.
