Here is a list of upcoming track works that affect SJ's traffic. The information below if preliminary, the exact effect on these depatures is determined shortly before we make tickets available for booking.

Northern Sweden

  • Ånge–Gävle 

Line: Duved–Stockholm, Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm and Gävle–Stockholm–Linköping.

Period: 4–8 May 2020 (daytime), 11–13 May 2020 (daytime), 14–17 May 2020 (daytime) and 18–22 May 2020 (daytime, Ascension day).

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be cancelled, travellers are referred to X-trafik.

 

  • Ängelsberg–Fagersta

Line: TiB and Duved–Stockholm.

Period: 4–8 May 2020, 11–15 May 2020, 18–22 May 2020 (Ascension day), 25–28 May 2020 (daytime), 29–31 May 2020, 1–5 June 2020 (daytime) and 8–12 June 2020 (daytime).

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Umeå–Örnsköldsvik 

Line: Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm.

Period: 4–8 May 2020 (daytime) and 10 May 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will be cancelled.

 

  • Bastuträsk–Umeå 

Line: Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 16–20 May 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Passengers travelling Narvik–Boden (and in the opposite direction) will have to travel seated in the 2 class carriage. Their booked sleeping cars and couchettes will be available to them Boden–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

 

  • Hallsberg

Line: Duved–Stockholm and Stockholm–Västerås–Örebro(–Gothenburg).

Period: 17 May 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Sundsvall–Gävle 

Line: Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm and Gävle–Stockholm–Linköping.

Period: 25–29 May 2020 (daytime) and 1–5 June 2020 (daytime).

Effect: Trains will be cancelled, travellers are referred to X-trafik.

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Duved–Östersund 

Line: Duved–Stockholm.

Period: 8–14 June 2020 (daytime).

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Östersund–Ånge 

Line: Duved–Stockholm.

Period: 11–14 June 2020.

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus between Duved and Ånge.

 

  • Umeå–Sundsvall 

Line: Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 11–14 June 2020.

Effect: Trains will take a different route and will be replaced by bus on stretches Vännäs–Umeå and Narvik–Kiruna.

 

  • Sundsvall–Hudiksvall

Effect: Trains will be cancelled, travellers are referred to X-trafik.

 

  • Gävle 

Line: Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm, Gävle–Stockholm–Linköping and Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 22–26 June 2020 (daytime), 29 June–1 Juny 2020 (daytime), 6–10 Juny 2020 (daytime), 2–5 Juny 2020, 13–17 Juny 2020 (daytime), 20–24 Juny 2020 (daytime) and 27–31 Juny 2020 (daytime).

Effect: Trains will be cancelled, travellers are referred to X-trafik. Night trains will be replaced by bus. 

 

  • Sundsvall–Hudiksvall 

Line: Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 29 June–5 July 2020.

Effect: Trains will take a different route and will be replaced by bus on stretches Vännäs–Umeå and Narvik–Kiruna.

 

  • Örnsköldsvik–Sundsvall 

Line: Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm, Duved–Stockholm(–Gothenburg) and Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 20–24 July 2020 (daytime).

Effect: Trains will be cancelled or take a different route. 

 

  • Ånge–Ockelbo 

Line: Östersund–Stockholm.

Period: 3–7 August 2020 and 10–14 August 2020.

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be cancelled, travellers are referred to X-trafik.

 

  • Umeå 

Line: Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 9 August 2020.

Effect: Trains will take a different route and be replaced by bus Vännäs–Umeå.

 

  • Kiruna–Gällivare 

Line: Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 9–10 August 2020.

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

Eastern Sweden

  • Flemingsberg–Södertälje

Line: Stockholm–Gothenburg, Stockholm–Malmö–Copenhagen, Stockholm–Nyköping–Norrköping and Stockholm–Eskilstuna–Örebro.

Line: Stockholm–Uppsala.

Effect: Regional trains 8XX will be cancelled.

Period: 16–17 May 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Flen

Line: Sala–Linköping.

Period: 17–20 May 2020.

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Bålsta–Sundbyberg

Line: Stockholm–Västerås–Örebro(–Gothenburg).

Period: 21–25 May 2020 4–26 July 2020.

Effect: Trains will terminate and start in Bålsta. Replacement buses will take travellers to/from Stockholm Cityterminal.

 

  • Nyköping–Norrköping

Line: Stockholm–Malmö–Copenhagen and Stockholm–Nyköping–Norrköping.

Period: 23–24 May 2020 (nighttime) and 30–31 May 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Läggesta–Eskilstuna

Line: Stockholm–Eskilstuna–Örebro.

Period: 1–7 June 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Västerås

Line: Duved–Stockholm, Stockholm–Västerås–Örebro(–Gothenburg) and TiB.

Period: 6–7 June 2020.

Effect: Trains will take a different route or will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Strängnäs–Eskilstuna

Line: Stockholm–Eskilstuna–Örebro.

Period: 8–12 June 2020 (nighttime).

Effect: Trains will be replaced by bus.

 

  • Stockholm Central–Stockholm Södra ("Wasp Waist")

Line: All lines that traffic the stretch Stockholm–Flemingsberg–Södertälje Syd–Katrineholm–Hallsberg.

Period: 22 June–16 August 2020.

Effect: No trains will be able to traffic the railway between Stockholm Central and Stockholm Södra. Trains will instead depart from and arrive at Stockholm Södra or Flemingsberg. Passengers wishing to travel to the city centre are asked to take the SL commuter trains to Stockholm City. This requires a valid SL ticket.

 

  • Gävle 

Line: Umeå–Sundsvall–Stockholm, Gävle–Stockholm–Linköping and Narvik/Luleå–Stockholm(–Gothenburg).

Period: 22–26 June 2020 (daytime), 29 June–1 Juny 2020 (daytime), 6–10 Juny 2020 (daytime), 2–5 Juny 2020, 13–17 Juny 2020 (daytime), 20–24 Juny 2020 (daytime) and 27–31 Juny 2020 (daytime).

Effect: All trains will be cancelled and replaced by bus due to several coinciding traffic works.

 

  • Stockholm Central–Stockholm Södra ("Wasp Waist")
