Track maintenance in Stockholm

Purchasing a ticket

This is where you'll find information regarding which train stops at which station, how the track work affects our range of SJ commuter tickets and the easiest way for you to buy a ticket for the SL commuter trains.

The easiest way to travel to and from Stockholm during summer 2020

From 22 June to 16 August, inclusive, SJ trains from the south to Stockholm and south-bound from Stockholm will stop at Stockholm Södra or Flemingsberg station instead of Stockholm Central.*

If you need to reach Stockholm Central the easiest way is to travel by SL commuter trains between the stations. Commuter trains to and from the city centre stop at Stockholm City, a commuter train station a few floors below Stockholm Central. You can buy your ticket for the SL commuter train when buying your SJ ticket.

* Some trains will go another way, north of lake Mälaren, and can therefore depart from Stockholm Central as usual. The station information in the timetable and on your ticket is always correct. Read more.

Do you usually travel with an SJ commuter ticket?

During the track maintenance period the SJ commuter ticket range will be a bit different and you may have to choose a different ticket during the summer. You can find information regarding which tickets that will not be available for purchase here.

The validity period for 10-pass and purchased sets will be changed

During the spring of 2018, the validity period for 10-pass and purchased sets will be changed to 30 days due to the track work.

For passengers travelling to, from or through Stockholm on a SJ Annual pass (without Resplus), SJ 90-day ticket or SJ Monthly pass

During the track maintenance period, an SL ticket will be included in your pass. We will send the SL ticket to you well in advance of the start of the track work. Read more here about which stretch the SL ticket is valid on and when the code will be sent out.

Do you travel with a Movingo ticket?

If you normally travel on a Movingo ticket, it is, as always, valid on SL commuter trains.
