Tickets by auction
We are now selling our last few tickets by auction.
At times we have many passengers wishing to travel with us and our trains are full, but at other times our trains are only half full, and it is these remaining tickets that we are now selling by auction.
This is how it works
The starting price for all train tickets is SEK 1. The auction opens no earlier than 48 hours before the departure time and closes 6 hours before the departure time. Exceptions apply to some auctions so that purchases can not be completed at night.
* Departures between 06:00-06:59 ends 8 hours before departure.
* Departures between 07:00-07:59 ends 9 hours before departure.
* Departures between 08:00-08:59 ends 10 hours before departure.
* Departures between 09:00-09:59 ends 11 hours before departure.
* Departures between 10:00-10:59 ends 4 hours before departure.
* Departures between 11:00-11:59 ends 5 hours before departure.
If you win an auction, you will receive a You have won notice from Tradera with a link to www.sj.se where you pay for your train ticket. The ticket must be collected before the train is due to depart.
The system is really very simple – Good Luck with your bidding!
Ticket categories and routes
Train tickets bought on auction are for 2nd Class travel with a seat reservation on X 2000 and certain InterCity trains on the following routes:
- Stockholm – Göteborg
- Göteborg – Stockholm
- Stockholm - Malmö - Copenhagen
- Copenhagen - Malmö – Stockholm
- Göteborg – Malmö
- Malmö – Göteborg
- Stockholm – Borlänge – Falun
- Falun – Borlänge – Stockholm
- Stockholm – Karlstad
- Karlstad – Stockholm
- Stockholm – Sundsvall - Härnösand
- Härnösand - Sundsvall – Stockholm
Please note that you can use your ticket for just part of a longer route. Even if you just want to travel for a leg of the journey, the auction shows the entire route.
Ticket rules
Tickets bought by auction on Tradera.com are neither rebooked nor refunded by SJ. The ticket cannot be combined with any other offer, e.g. SJ’s Family offer. If you wish to travel with a child, you must bid for 2 tickets.
